Testimonials from Glasgow PDC 2017

Everyone should do this course because you will gain confidence to align your projects and life with the ethics and principles in creative and unexpected ways. You’ll also be empowered to become a positive catalyst for change in your household and your community. This course was ideal for me because it taught me the relevence of permaculture to my way of life as a city-dweller. It’s also given me confidence to do things like take on an allotment plot, set up a wormery, forage for wild foods etc, expanding my perspective and enriching my relationship with where I live. I’ve learnt practical skills, had my imagination fired up and learnt tools I’m really excited to bring to bear on my personal and commuity projects. Tom.

People should take part in this course because they will meet new people and form new friendships; learn more than expected; have a new persepctive on what you do or would like to achieve; see a garden/space in a whole new light.

We learnt basic skills and essential knowledge that we didn’t learn as children – I feel more prepared for the future and ready to participate and create the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible. Eilidh McKay.

This course is a fantastic overview of all aspects of permaculutre. A great opportunity to meet others interested with permaculture principles and to share our knowledge.

I’ve found a lot of relief in channelling the energy that I was using on despair for the state of the planet (the environment and it’s people) into pro-active, positive problem-solving and solutions that I’ve discovered I can implement in every area of my life, internally and externally. I’m full of energy to continue on this path. F.S.

Everyone ‘should’ know this and how it works as it effects everything on our planet and if everyone understood this cycle in our envrionment we would all live more sustainably. I feel the problem is people haven’t heard of permaculture let alone understand it, it should be in schools. Isabel Robinson.

Gives a real idea – practical and theory on ways we can live a more natural life, close to nature (instead of virtual) understand where food comes from. Can make a huge difference to people who are unaware of where food comes from, or want to use land more productively. Made me want to get chickens now – didn’t know enough to set it up effectical but after listening to the chicken design project, felt I could put it into practice.

I was looking for a way to design a garden or organisation and I found a way to design my own life. I learnt a lot about myself and my needs. It help me develop interest for new things. It was really eye-opening on how easy is to live a sustainable life and how you can do things in any scale, path of way, social background, educational level. It applies to anything and everyone. Clear myth buster about permaculture itself.

Everyone should do this course because:

  • It’s more than you expected it to be;
  • you gain knowledge from lots of sources;
  • the written and practical work is enjoyable, not like a normal course;
  • everyone makes amazing food to share;
  • you gain new interests and hobbies;
  • you make lots of new, interesting friends.

Everyone should do this course because permaculture makes sense to every aspect of everyone’s life. It was really good fun, social and interesting in a practical and applicable way. I love it! Amy.

You can apply the design principles to anything that you do. And the ethics are very important for giving a practice framework and changing perceptions of how things can and should be done.

It has something for everybody. Even if, like me, you are a complete novice it can provide a basis for living a in a more sustainable way. It’s also great for those who ar emore experienced! I found that these more experienced gardeners were a terrific fountain of support and knowledge. Scott Tully.
